Critical illness claims e-learning
Recognising the importance of sound claims management to profitability, Swiss Re has developed an internet-based training tool to support clients in managing critical illness claims.
Aimed at a variety of levels of experience, critical illness claims e-learning provides a solid and comprehensive foundation for claims assessors who are new to the product, and serves as a valuable refresher to those already familiar with this line of business.
The course brings together all of the elements that are vital to effective critical illness claims management – from the fundamentals of claims management to providing generic guidance in how to handle claim files.
The course in detail
The package, which results from extensive collaboration between Swiss Re’s claims experts across the world, features eight modules. These begin with an introduction to critical illness and consider the origins of the product, its rapid development and its basic principles.
The initial modules then examine how the product is designed, give an overview of the differences between markets, and cover the core definitions common to the majority of policies issued around the world.
Other modules show how claims skills are key to the product design process, consider the different types of evidence required for each type of claim and provide help in overcoming some of the pitfalls involved in evidence-gathering. These sessions also cover the major regulatory and legal principles that apply in a variety of markets, along with the issues involved in managing non-disclosure and policy exclusions – including a detailed analysis of the range of policy exclusions that may apply on a critical illness claim.
E-asy learning
Each training module is divided into short chapters. These deliver the information in a digestible form and enable users to fit the training around their schedules. There are regular breaks for Q&A sessions, which allow progress to be monitored and help knowledge to be retained. The package also includes case studies which simulate the challenges of real-life claims scenarios by prompting trainee assessors to answer questions along the way, culminating in a claim adjudication.
Swiss Re combines in-depth global expertise with a local focus, tailored to the individual demands of our clients. The availability of particular products and services depends on local circumstances.
